SAILING CLASSES

YOUTH SAILING LESSONS - Ages 8—17

In a partnership with the South Milwaukee Yacht Club and Youth Sailing Association, the Recreation Departments within the School Districts of South Milwaukee, Oak Creek, and Cudahy will offer summer sailing lessons!  Explore the possibilities of learning this incredible sport and making new friends as your child conquers Lake Michigan with confidence and poise.  In this 4-week course, you will learn knot tying, how to use the wind to your advantage, setup and takedown of a sailboat, operating a vessel on land and then in the water, and most of all, the fun of sailing!  There will be approximately six classroom hours and 6 hours of water instruction.

Session 3 Tue July 7, 14, 21, 28 Activity Code: XXS400.403 $90.00

TIME: 5:00 - 8:00 pm, or until the boats are properly stored.

LOCATION:  South Milwaukee Yacht Club

NOTES:  Participants must be able to swim 25 yards and tread water for 1 minute, and must supply a Coast Guard-approved life vest, bring a swimsuit and towel, notebook and pen, and a positive attitude. 

Registration is now being accepted online(www.smrecdept.org), or by mail, phone (414-766-5081) or in person at the Recreation Department.  You may park your car in the High School East lot and enter the building through door #24. The Recreation Office is located just inside door #24, and the building is labeled COMMUNITY RECREATION & FITNESS CENTER.
