About Us
The South Milwaukee Municipal Band was established in 1935 by 13 musicians. The membership had grown to over 100 by the time the band celebrated its 50 th anniversary. An active band, the group played at American Legion conventions, the New York World’s Fair, the Civil War Centennial celebration in Galena, Illinois, and marched in countless parades, including the famous Schlitz Circus Parade, and South Milwaukee’s own Spectacle of Music. Today, although smaller and no longer a marching band, the organization continues to be active year-round. We enjoy delighting audiences at area retirement and care facilities, summer outdoor concerts, patriotic events, and other venues. We are life-long musicians who enjoy sharing our talents with the community.
Come join in the fun with the South Milwaukee Municipal Band.
