South Milwaukee Recreation Department is a department within the school district that strives to enhance the quality of life by providing recreational, educational, and social opportunities in partnership with schools, organizations, and the community. Programming is offered year-round. We offer activities for youth through adults, which include team sports, camps, enrichment programs, fine arts, and exercise. We also provide a Before and After Care program at all 4 of the district elementary schools. We encourage you to be active and take advantage of the many opportunities available. If you would like us to offer a program that we are not currently offering, please contact any of the staff listed on the website.

Volunteers Sought: Recreation Center Committee
The Recreation Department is seeking community members to solicit and review feedback regarding the potential construction of a South Milwaukee community recreation center. The committee will look to present a formal report to the school board by the fall of 2025.
The committee will be made up of roughly 15 people - and will consist of a combination of community members, South Milwaukee School District employees, school board / city representatives, and youth sport leaders. If you would like to apply, please click below.
